I Hear a Song

(Yvonne Wall)
February, 2008
This is a tune I started writing years ago while I was in College. It was actually one of the first real songs I ever wrote. At first write, it was a syrupy love song.
And not worth performing or sharing.

This past year I was antsy to write a new song, and so I started looking at old material and decided this one had the makings of something so I changed up the tempo and some of the lyrics, added a bridge and wha- laa!

I HEAR A SONG
I hear a song a sweet melody
It lingers when you leave
Stirring my senses, refreshing and sweet
Incredible moments thread together,
Creating my souvenir
A token of memories of you when your here.

Babe. . . Oh darlin’ I love you.
My heart and my soul they adore you.
Love me tonight, love me forever, take me away and don’t ever let me go.

I hear a song a sweet melody
It whispers through the air
A simple refrain, ooh makes it feels like your here
Cause there are those days you are so far away,
but your always on my mind
Then along comes our song, and I’m feelin’ fine (my sweet valentine)

Babe. . . Oh darlin’ I love you.
My heart and my soul are so into you.
Love me tonight, love me forever, take me away and don’t ever let me go.

Bridge
Can you hear it in your head
Can you touch it with your heart
A hymn that wraps around me a blessed wonderland
A pocket of heaven is playing the band

Instrumental –

I hear a song a sweet melody
It’s rhythm fills the air
Assuring my heart that you’ll always be there
We can’t ever go wrong. . . . because I hear a song.
